Over and above any considerations of performance for sports, exercise is the stimulus that returns our bodies to the conditions for which they were designed. Humans are not physically normal in the absence of hard physical effort. Exercise is not a thing to fix a problem- it is a thing we must do anyway, a thing without which there will always be problems. Exercise is the thing we must do to replicate the conditions under which our physiology was – and still is- adapted, the conditions under which we are physically normal. ….And merely normal, for most worthwhile humans, is not enough. – Mark Rippetoe

49: Snow & Satisfaction

Finished 9th at the Snow. Started out very slow getting last in the first race but slowly remembering how to sail a 420. The final race was a fun windy-enough-to-open-the-stern-ball race.

40: HPDO

We didn't race on Saturday. The wind speed was touching 30 knots and we figured it would be bad to break the boat right before the Americas Championship. Sunday was a bit less, maybe 25, and we had three races. We won the day but the Canadians had braved the conditions on Saturday to get a race win and take the regatta.
